Giving Back
1st to 3rd Softball Events Inc & Sorcerer 2nd Annual Phil Mumma Memorial Tournament (Oct 2017)
Hello Chris and Bill,
It was such a pleasure meeting the two of you yesterday and having an opportunity to chat about your involvement in the softball community along with your efforts in raising funds to support cancer research. Your friend, Phil, sounds like he was such a dynamic person (journalist, founder of Sorcerer, singer!, etc.). Your donation to esophageal cancer research is such a meaningful way to honor his memory along with modeling for your young softball players what it means to give back to the community. I have attached the photos from yesterday’s meeting for you. I will be sharing this with the point person for the SCI Newsletter in the event that there is an opportunity to include it in a future publication.
It was a treat to hear from Dr. Kunz about her research and I was happy to see how excited you were to hear about her work and the impact you are making. I want to invite you to our upcoming Health Matters community event where you can hear from Stanford Medicine’s world-renowned physicians and health-care experts on the latest medical innovations and get tips on healthy living. Topics include: immunotherapy, stroke prevention, heart health, palliative care, chronic disease, and more. The invitation is attached, and the full program can be viewed here. This is a public event and you are welcome to join and invite others along with you.
Thank you for all that you do and for donating to Stanford University to support esophageal cancer research. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
All the best,
Kristine Pendon
